Today is a sad day for all Hong Kong people. Seven Hong Kong tourists were killed in bus hijack and two hostages were seriously injured. I wish the people passed away can rest in peace and the others can recover.
Philippine police did very bad during this bus hijack. They spent more than 30 minutes to finish the gunman. According to BBC reporter, the gunman was well trained and he knew all police tactics, thus why the police moved very cautiously. However, the result is a bloody end. No matter what reason the police says, Hong Kong people are hard to understand.
Finally, I hope all Hong Kong people in Philippine will come home soon. It is too dangerous in there now.

Working, playing and studying
The past weeks were busy weeks. A leave application system was upgraded from Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003 server. And my main duties were testing the upgrading and implementing the upgrading. I had already done a lot of tests for preparation but those users, Civil Service Staffs, were not willing to do the user acceptance test. As I am not one of the users for the system, I do not know its business logic, thus user cooperation is necessary. However, no Civil Service Staff was allowed to assist to test the system even in the day of deployment. What I could do were just guessing the result and praying. Luckily, no error was found. But I was really depressed by the action of Civil Service Staff. I believe this implementation will run smoother with user assistance.
The final lesson of fencing course was completed today. I think this course is just allowed citizen for trying fencing in a non-professional way. I had seen a professional fencing training in PolyU and the trainers were the competitors. That training was totally different from this course. Perhaps, I want a professional training rather than the course provided by LCSD.
Besides, I went to Computer Expo 2010 in Wan Chai, In fact, I was not interested by it since I know that this expo is only a market for selling cheaper goods. I visit the expo for getting a book about iphone. One depressed thing was the empty counters in trading and software area. I supposed there should be some introductions about the IT business. But, only a few of staffs were working in counters, some counters were empty and I just found posters in these counters!!! No citizen visited these counters and no staff introduced anything of their companies. It seemed no one was interested in IT business...
I will start the first lesson of master degree in this month end. I have to study 3 subjects at the same time and so I need to go to school on every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the next 13 weeks. I will be a busy man soon. Oh! No playing anymore!

資訊科技行業沒落？
我在香港討論區中看到了一個關於『假自僱』的題目，從未知道什麼是假自僱的我對此十分好奇。(http://www.discuss.com.hk/viewthread.php?tid=12800718&extra=page%3D1)
原來有一間大公司(估計是PCXW)聘請了一個員工，但要求該員工以自僱的形式簽一年合約，真的前所未聞！！大家都應該知道，這是一種假自僱(參考勞工處網頁http://www.labour.gov.hk/tc/major/LabourInFocus/17.htm)，而且是違法的。從前我覺得透過中介人公司去招聘人手已經是一種剝削的手法，因為中介人公司必然吞掉某些福利或薪金。現在有更過份的做法，就是把建築行業的『假自僱』手法用在資訊科技從業員身上。這樣做的話，公司可以省一些錢，例如不用供強積金、無需給予代通知金、有薪年假、法定假日薪酬及遣散費，更不會提供勞工保險。
香港的資訊科技行業什麼時候變成跟地盤一樣的呢？難怪今年IVE收生中，電腦行業被學生評為『冷門』科目(http://hk.news.yahoo.com/article/100727/4/jdsf.html)，只需要8分就能修讀了。當年我還要中七學歷才進入了高級文憑，現在什麼人都可以修讀了。
曾有人在討論區說過，香港打從開始就是一個以金融地產為主的城市，為什麼政府跟商界不投資在這些能賺錢的事情上而要發展別的行業像資訊科技？他又說從未聽過倫敦跟紐約的人都投資在資訊科技的。這種說法真的反映了香港商人短視的眼光，瞧瞧看看新加坡吧，別人可幹得很不錯呀，什麼事情到了香港政府手裡就一定辦不成，但到了新加坡手上卻攪得有聲有色的。
